SuiMCP Privacy Policy

What this is

SuiMCP is an internal archival and analytics tool the Sui Foundation runs in its own community spaces — currently the official Sui Discord server, with additional Sui Foundation–controlled Discord servers and Telegram groups planned. It is added only to servers the Sui Foundation directly administers; it is not a public bot available for other communities to install.

What data we collect

In servers and groups where SuiMCP is present, we store:

• Message content — the text of messages sent in public channels, including a message's original text if it is later edited (the edit itself is also recorded).
• Message metadata — sender ID and display name, channel/thread, timestamps, and reply relationships.
• Deletions — when a message is deleted, we retain the content for moderation review rather than erasing it, and mark it as deleted.
• Member events — join and leave events, used for aggregate community-growth tracking and moderation context.
• Moderation events — bans, unbans, and related actions visible in the server's audit log.

We do not collect direct messages, voice audio, or presence/online-status data.

Why we collect it

This data supports the Sui Foundation's community management work: understanding what topics and sentiment are trending, supporting moderators with historical context during incidents, and tracking community health (growth, moderator activity, scam/abuse patterns). It is used only by authorized Sui Foundation community staff.

How it's stored and who can access it

Message and event data is stored in a private database on Sui Foundation–controlled infrastructure. It is not public, not sold, and not shared with third parties. Access is restricted to:

• A small number of Sui Foundation engineers who administer the system, via least-privilege database credentials scoped to their task (ingestion vs. read-only querying).
• Authorized community team members, exclusively through an internal query tool gated by an authentication token that is not publicly distributed.

Nightly backups are taken and retained for 14 days (daily) plus 8 weeks (weekly), stored on the same restricted infrastructure with no external or third-party access.

Retention

Data is retained indefinitely to serve as a historical community archive and moderation record. There is currently no automatic deletion schedule beyond the backup rotation described above. You may request removal of your own messages — see below.

Use with AI tools

Authorized staff may use an AI assistant (Anthropic's Claude) to help analyze this archive — for example, summarizing discussion topics or sentiment over a time period. In these cases, message content is provided to the assistant as read-only context to answer a specific question at the time it is asked. It is not used to train, fine-tune, or otherwise improve any machine learning or AI model.

Your choices

If you'd like content related to your user — messages, message metadata, or member events — excluded from this archive or deleted from what's already stored, contact us via the #support channel in the official Sui Discord server. We will process deletion requests manually within a reasonable time.
